Event/Training Management

MCL has specific expertise and experience in organising and delivering development-related events, from small-scale training to Ministerial conferences. MCL can plan, organise and oversee the delivery of events from end to end. This can cover:

  • programme development, including background research, speaker identification and co-ordination of presentations, and
  • logistics and operations management, including venue selection, complex international travel and visa requirements political liaison and security and risk assessments.

MCL can also chair workshops, prepare and deliver technical inputs, facilitate discussion sessions and provide conference rapporteurs. MCL Principal John Morgan’s conference and event management experience includes:

  • Event management of a Ministerial Roundtable hosted by DFID on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Standards.
  • Oversight of the design and roll-out of a series of workshops on mainstreaming trade issues in non-trade related projects for DFID and other donor staff and developing country officials.
  • Organisation and delivery of successive annual Budget Strategy workshops that brought together senior officials from the Iraqi Ministries of Finance and Planning with Budget Officers from line ministries and relevant officials from the IMF and World Bank.
  • Project Management and chair of a privately sponsored workshop that focused on increasing private sector participation in infrastructure and utilities in Africa and the Middle East held in Cairo.
